Where Are You? Part 2

'Where Are You' - Part 2 continues the honest, humorous look at everyday chaos, shifting from longing to reality. It explores the moment when help finally arrives - only to reveal that presence, patience, and grace are just as necessary as relief. The poem captures the tender contradictions of shared responsibility, weariness, and love in the midst of noise.

HUMAN EXPERIENCES

My mind's creating pictures,

where I would rather be instead;

cleaning spots left on the wall,

as something whizzes past my head.

Where are you?

Won't you even call?

What's taking you so long?

Are you bothering at all?

Crash!

Lights!

Cue the anticipated wailing.

Yes. The day continues on.

Now I'm comforting and cradling.

Silence follows, with inward celebration;

as one naps; one focuses on a toy.

Then a sudden creak...

It's you - and I'm filled with such joy.

I run to you with anticipation -

my sweet help for sure.

I sugarcoat words of admiration,

to flatter your ego's core.

I slowly lure you in,

giving little chores just to begin,

until an echoing noise brings us back.

Then shuffling, scuffling...

followed by the screams.

You stare at me blankly -

what are you going to do?

My posture suggests,

this is your problem too.

Loud crying joins the chorus,

you gently smile at me -

care to have some tea?

Peace is what I want in all honesty.

The drama ends with timeout for two.

Puppy eyes are pleading with you,

to escape punishment upon themselves.

I remove you before their plan comes true.

Back to work again,

but here comes another case -

the random disappearing of you...

I desperately need grace.

Once more I find you.

Finally everything's done.

We all sit cuddled in restful embrace.

Wouldn't change anything - not one.
