Dance

A journey told through movement, Dance follows the quiet rhythm of longing, courage, and becoming. As each step unfolds, the stage becomes a place where hope is pursued and something precious is discovered.

I'm dancing...

up on my tippy-toes;

swirling and twirling,

into a splendid pirouette,

floating across the floor

like a swan on the lake -

graceful and elegant,

with every careful step.

I move my hand above my head,

reaching, as if grabbing for air.

I grasp, and pull back suddenly,

as if holding a precious thing.

Then I release...

then run forward - expectant,

like I'm chasing a dream;

pursuing after a destined win.

Then I stop. Sudden; careful,

covering my face and taking small steps,

forward slowly, then quick,

cautious, then free.

The sauté comes with force,

yet I land in softness before I leap again,

touching the floor, into a dive roll,

I hold out my hands longingly.

I pull it back into my chest,

like I've caught something valuable,

I hold it close to my face,

pretending I can feel a warmth.

Then I stand, feet straight.

I take a humble bow,

and walk confidently off the stage.

DANCE

Reflection:

Life rarely moves in a straight line. There are moments when we spin with joy, run with hope, walk with caution, and leap with courage. Yet even in the pauses and uncertain steps, something beautiful is being formed within us.

May this poem remind you that every season has its rhythm, and that the quietest movements often lead to the most meaningful transformation.
